The Avalokiteśvara Cintāmaṇicakra Dhāraṇī Sūtra is an Esoteric Mahāyāna sūtra that gained popularity in China in the late Seventh and early Eighth Centuries. This book is a critical translation of that sūtra by Alexander James O’Neill, based on four eighth-century Chinese witnesses by Śikṣānanda, Manicintana, Bodhiruci, and Yijing. The sutra presents the core incantations (dhāraṇī) of Avalokiteśvara in three forms. It provides a detailed ritual manual for their use, covering both accessible recitations for karmic purification and complex esoteric rites.
